Finally, Mommy - It's time for cereal!

And now, a message from Nathaniel Jacob...

Hi everyone! As you can see by all the pictures, I am growing up and having a ton of fun! This past Monday was a big day for me - I ate cereal! :) At first, Mommy tried to feed it to me BEFORE giving me my bottle - what was she thinking??? I let her know I'd try the new stuff AFTER my bottle. Well, it felt pretty weird at first, but I began to get the hang of it - it's hard getting the stuff off that tiny spoon! Anyway, Mom was a good sport about the whole thing, even when I decided to blow raspberries with cereal in my mouth! Now I eat cereal twice a day - yummy! I saw Mommy put some small jars in the cabinet - they have to be for me... I wonder when I'll get to eat that! I hope to see you all soon so I can show you how I can stand up (if you help me) and how I talk! Bye-bye!

Hooray for summer!

How are we already approaching the end of July??? Forgive me for not writing recently; does anyone know where I could buy some TIME??? :) Well, Nathaniel is now 20 weeks old! He had a doctor's appointment this past week and weighed in at 18 pounds 1 ounce and 26 inches long! He's almost outgrown his car seat already! He's changed so much these past two months. He smiles and laughs, tries to talk - especially when everyone else in the room with him is trying to hold a real conversation! - and has recently begun to turn over - he can easily turn from his tummy to his back, but it's the other way around that is a little more challenging to him! It's amazing how much babies grow and change within their first few months. He can almost sit unassisted, but he's so chunky - that's a lot of weight for him to hold steady! He's such a happy baby - he wakes up with a smile and brightens my day.

On June 26th, we presented Nathaniel to the Lord at Chestnut Assembly of God. As we sat waiting for the service to begin, I couldn't help but think about our wedding day there at the same spot where we would soon bring our baby boy before God. It was also awesome to have Paul and Jackie as Nathaniel's Godparents. Paul was Sam's best man and Jackie was one of my bridesmaids! It's funny how life comes full circle... The service was beautiful and afterwards we invited family and friends back to the house for a little party. I have more pics to post from the party - coming soon!

I never want to forget...

The way you smile at me when you wake up in the morning. How you let us know when the mobile stops turning. The way you cuddle up on my shoulder after feeding you and you let out one of those "man burps". Your adorable laugh. The way you only cross your ankles left over right. The way you grab onto my shirt when feeding or rocking you to sleep. How you queal with delight when you see the dog, frog and duck puppets on your Baby Einstein videos. How you stop crying when I hold you close.
