Happy Two Month Birthday, Nathaniel!

(The following message is from Nathaniel Jacob ~ Mommy took dictation!) Hi everybody! The past two months have been very interesting to me, and I would like to take this time to recap some of the more recent moments. Because all I did my first month was eat, sleep and, well, you know, the past few weeks have been when the action has happened...

I actually enjoy being awake- hanging out with Mom and Dad can get quite interesting - Mom makes up all kinds of songs to calm me down... sometimes I cry just to see what more she can come up with! Dad is pretty cool, too- we have been watching this thing called Sportscenter lately... I like my swing, but mostly I like to be held and shown around... there's alot for me to learn about! I really enjoy hearing people talk - I need to work on my language skills and if I do say so myself, I am getting pretty good at it! Sometimes I open my mouth and nothing comes out, but even still, I get standing ovations every time...

Since Mom had to return to work, I have been spending my days with Grandma Iris (aka Mama)... now I REALLY have her wrapped around my little finger! It's like Club Med at her house! I get daily massages, watch Baby Einstein DVD's... She even has me doing little exercises... I like Grandpa, too. He whistles and I love listening to him.

This past weekend, Mom took me to a bookstore and I had a great time. She showed me a book that had a colorful cover - I cooed like crazy and thankfully she got the hint and bought it!

Last night, I decided to let Mom and Dad off the hook, and I slept for most of the night. I could have stayed up all night partying, but Dad put me in the crib at 10... I woke up at 5:40am and Mom got a bottle ready for me PRONTO! I think she was a little freaked out since I didn't wake up at 3am, but I assured her I was okay... hey, she's still learning. (I wasn't too crazy about her making me wear a tie already, but I have to admit, I looked great!)

Life is sweet...

Nathaniel Jacob is almost two months old! It's hard to believe he's only been here 8 weeks! I just wanted to post these pictures I took this past weekend while we were hanging out at home ~ he cracks us up when he tries to talk and his cooing is ridiculously adorable! I also wanted to say that when I post new pictures in the SNAPFISH album, I'll let you know via this blogger. Some have asked me if I have posted new pics and I have not yet ~ at least more recent than Easter. There's not much time in my day to sit & play around on the computer nowadays!

Back to school...

It is hard to believe Nathaniel Jacob with be two months old next week! As you can see, he has changed so much within this past month. Not only is he more alert but has started to actually fight sleep! During his first month, all he did was sleep (when he was not eating, of course) and now he DOESN'T want to sleep??? We have made some progress, however... Little Nathan has graduated from sleeping (or NOT sleeping) in the pack-n-play in our bedroom to sleeping in his crib! I would say he is now over 11 pounds and he has definitely grown a few inches. He is already outgrowing some of his clothes! He is now getting into the Baby Einstein videos - especially Baby Neptune: Discovering the Sea. I also put Language Nursery on fgor him last night and he was staring at the TV... Nathaniel likes his swing more and LOVES to be held; I bought a Snugli and seems to enjoy it quite a bit. (Interpretation: He'll take a nap while I'm toting him around!) I am starting to read to him more; whenever he hears Sam's or my voice, it's so cute how he stops and stares ~ it's like he's thinking, "I know that sound!" He is so much fun... if I could only get paid to play with him all day!

Nathaniel Jacob @ 6 1/2 weeks ~ what a cutie! 

You know it's bad when...

the thought of sleeping 6 hours straight seems like a foreign concept! Well, little Nathan is 5 1/2 weeks old and weighs in at over 10 pounds! He is getting much stronger and stays awake at longer intervals, giving us a chance to see little glimpses of his personality ~ PLUS we get to play with some pretty cool toys! He holds his head up much steadier now than before and can keep his gaze focused on whatever is interesting to him at the moment. It's amazing to see the changes in him, even in such a short amount of time. Most of all, Nathaniel steals my heart every time he starts cooing - he opens his eyes wide and makes the most adorable sounds! He talks mostly in the mornings ~ a trait he did NOT inherit from me! I think he did get my love of music ~ he listens to Baby Einstein every day and seems to enjoy it alot! The picture shows him on the Baby Einstein playmat watching the star light up and play music. As he was laying there, he kept kicking his legs out; he looked like a frog! We'll work on his dance moves later...
