Horray for Spring!
Well, life at the Santiago's is getting easier day by day - but in no way am I saying it is easy! Nathaniel is thriving; I am sure he is over 9 lbs. by now... he NEVER misses a feeding! During the past few days, I have noticed that he has become more alert as opposed to eating and sleeping all day long! He is getting used to his swing now, which is of great help to Mommy. Sam returned to work this past week; I couldn't believe how quickly three weeks passed! Soon it will be my turn to go back to work; I am pretending that day will never come - at least for a little while longer!
It's hard to believe he will be one month old already - on Easter Sunday! Looking back on his first pictures, I can see how Nathaniel is already changing. He still has tons of hair, but his eyes are becoming more brown from the dark gray they were. It is so exciting to see how he is growing, but at the same time, I want him to stay little forever! I know it's impossible, but one can wish...
This month has been one of the most challenging and fulfilling times of our life - now that Nathaniel is finally here, life is not life without him!

Who knew...
finding just ten or fifteen minutes to write an update would be so hard to find with little Nathaniel home??? Needless to say, life at the Santiago residence has been turned upside down with Nathaniel's arrival... Sam and I are getting used to our new sleep patterns, and Nathaniel is being very patient (well, most of the time) with his new parents! On his first visit to the doctor's, he weighed in a few pounds lighter than when he was born ~ completely normal, but leave it to me to worry about it! Well, at today's check-up, he gained 10 ounces in a week!!! He now weighs 8 pounds 7 ounces and as of last week, he already grew half an inch! He loves to be cuddled on the Boppy pillow and hates bathtime. Well, he hated the sponge baths; today he had his first 'real' bath, and he didn't cry as much. Oh, yes, the boy can scream when he wants to! His cries are for good reasons, though, and we are getting better at decoding them. He's only been with us for two weeks now, but I can barely remember life without him!

Welcome to the World, Nathaniel!
Hello everyone! Our little baby boy ~ Nathaniel Jacob ~ was born on Sunday, February 27, 2005 at 3:46pm. I went into labor late Saturday night and got to the hospital around 2:45 am Sunday morning. When I got to the hospital, I was diagnosed with pregnancy-induced hypertension, so to make sure both the baby and I were not under stress for a long period of time, I was induced. Thank God both he and I made it through with the help of wonderful nurses, midwives and doctors. Nathaniel weighed in at 8 lbs, 2 oz and was 20 inches long! As you can see by the pictures, he has a full head of hair, just like his mommy did when she was born! Both Sam and I are so happy he is finally here ~ our happy and healthy baby boy!
